K9 Art Contest, 5th Grade Winner
Sandpiper Elementary School recently hosted a K9 Association event bringing law enforcement-trained canines to campus for a demonstration of skill. Students were also invited to participate in an art contest, visually representing the important job of police K9s.
Congratulations go to Macaley Arauz (5th grade) in Ms. Lundblade’s art class for winning the art contest! This artwork will soon be featured on K9 Association t-shirts. The president of the association chose Macaley’s art piece because the dog was pictured human-like behind the wheel of a car, giving a true representation of how smart and kind police canines are.
Food at the event was generously provided by Circle K.
This event and many others are great illustrations of how a strong community can enrich the lives of students, empowering them for a lifetime of success.
Congratulations on this amazing achievement!
